Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed his only concern ahead of the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal against Stellenbosch FC at the weekend.

Amakhosi are set to take on the Cape Winelands-based outfit at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, 8 March. The kick-off for this showdown is at 18:00.

This year already, the Glamour Boys have defeated Stellies twice in the league games. On 8th of January, Chiefs beat Steve Barker-coached side 2-1 at FNB Stadium, whereas on the 7th February, the Soweto giants got the better of Stellenbosch 1-0 away from home.

Chiefs will be hoping to get a third win in a row against Stellenbosch as they want to go all out to the Nedbank Cup final to break their nine-year trophy drought.

The Tunisian coach expressed his worries regarding the injuries that have occurred and may impact their result against Stellenbosch. He proceeded to acknowledge that the match on Saturday won’t be a walk in the park as Stellies got the experience of playing in cup games.

Nabi’s team will be without the services of Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Wandile Duba, who are currently nursing injuries.

Meanwhile, Tashreeq Morris and Rushwin Dortley remain doubtful having missed the Magesi FC league match on Tuesday due to injuries.

“It’s going to be a tough game on Saturday and everyone knows that. We have already started with the preparation for the game, but there’s not enough time to prepare for everyone. So, it’s going to require a lot of mental preparation, and to try to show the players that they are in the right position to do something,” said Nabi during the Nedbank Cup press conference on Thursday.

“The only thing that we could say that is negative on us, is the injuries that have been happening. We could have more strengths if we didn’t have these injuries.

“But we are confident that with the players that we have, they will deliver a good performance on Saturday.”
